The Police Command in Anambra has arrested a 30-year-old woman for allegedly producing fake receipts to aid suspected motorcycle snatchers in their nefarious activities, a statement signed by the Police Public Relation Officer, Ebere Amaraizu, said on Monday.
The command said the suspect, who hailed from Adaziani town, Aniocha Local Government Area of the state, was arrested in Akamaoghe, where she was producing and issueing the fake receipts.
It said the arrest followed information received from members of the public on her alleged nefarious activities.
The police said the receipts issued by her were used by the thieves to change ownership of the motorcycles to enable them obtain genuine licences and plate numbers.
“She issues fake receipts to the snatchers at the cost of N1,500,” it stated.
The police said it had recovered from her two blank receipts, fake number plates and a motorcycle
